Spring has officially arrived, although here in Maine it will be at least a month before it begins to feel like it. How many times have those words been spoken... Hopefully we won't still be saying it in May! With spring comes the building pressure and anticipation of the next season at Five Islands Farm. We are looking forward to it with a bit of a face lift to boost our spirits after the long winter... hopefully a new sign (I am making it myself, so we will see!) will welcome you, the old one is getting a bit tired. This brand new website with this swanky blog feature. Please don't expect too much, from me here, as time is always in scarce supply. I do love that I will be able to post some updates for you here and look forward to writing a bit now and then. This winter I had the pleasure of doing some customized tasting classes for some business teams wanting to have some in depth exposure to Maine cheese, I hope to do more of these, so let me know if you would like to book one and I will send you a quote.
Besides the new sign and website you will see some subtle shifts at Five Islands Farm, as we continually try to fine tune what works best. Staffing, as is the case all over Maine, is a bit up in the air at this point, so adjustments in the hours may become necessary. We have always been so fortunate to have the best staff anywhere, and are hoping that we will find the perfect staff again this season! Please let us know, if you know of anyone who might be interested. We are looking for an extraordinary person or two that is over 21, is enamored with fantastic food, loves people, takes pride in working hard and staying busy, and is available on weekends until late September. Yep, there is also a fair bit of heavy lifting! We do have fun though, and have the best customers in the world!
